Great Membership Conference in San Jose

The San Jose Conference this past weekend was Outstanding! Great ideas about membership recruiting and retention and the speakers were very impressive, particularly RI President Rick King and Past RI Pres Chris Dochterman. Our fellow Rotarian Don Kremer did a great job talking about "Increasing membership thorugh Cultural Diversity." I'm looking forward to attending more of these conferences.

August 7th Meeting. Ms. Renee Brinks

The MPSRC membership was re treated to an excellent talk from Ms Rene Brinks, a former Ambassador Scholar for the Rotary International. She depicted her experiences in her application for the scholarship, her work experience prior to receiving the scholarship, and finally explained what she has accomplished after completing her masters degree in Bon, Australia. She spent one full year in Australia, completed her masters degree in Education/Journalism and is currently a free lance writer in her own business. She is currently living in the Monterey Peninsula since 2002 (five years) and loves working with people. She was very enthusiastic and extremely motivated in her work. She is energetic and loves helping business with their public relations issues.

District Governors visit/meeting July 30/31st

DG Nina Clancy visiting our club July 30th for dinner and a board meeting at Tarpys restaurant. We reviewed our clubs plans for the year along with the districts goals. We had a good turnout for dinner and a good time was had by all. Our general meeting was held the next morning with DG Nina as our speaker. She also outlined some of the goals for the district to the membership. This included the Angola water project with World Vision which our club will be supporting this year.
